This was Alayna's question to her sister at supper tonight. The discussion centered around how long it would be before we went home. Alayna reminded us of something very important by asking that question. She went on to ask whether the home was in the States or our heavenly one. No matter what address is listed on our mail, no address in this world should be considered our home. The faith chapter, Hebrews 11, says:
14People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. 15If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had opportunity to return. 16Instead, they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.Where do you call home?

I've been reading all these months, just not signing.
ReplyDeleteChildren are so quick to remind us what we so easily forget. Love you little Alayna.
Happy Mother's Day, Lisa! Hope your day was filled with memories with your girls.
ReplyDeleteHome is wherever the Lord has placed our little family of five! :~) We are actually living in the area where Mike and I grew up and where we spent the first 11 years of our marriage, but even though it is "home" we don't belong here anymore. We look forward to the day when we will be home in the Philippines for as long as the Lord sees fit to leave us there. We long for our heavenly home where we will no longer have to say, "Goodbye."
