On Our Way

After packing, packing and more packing we were finally ready to go. Our first stop was Cornerstone where we worshipped with our family and friends. Lots of good-byes and hugs. Difficult to comprehend how it will be to be separated from our loved ones so long.

We left town at 2 o'clock. Although Annalise was very optimistic, we didn't make it to Oregon yet! Our day travelling involved coloring pages, Tic tacs, bubble gum, Silly Putty, Etch A Sketch, 30 Second Mysteries, Mad Libs, drving through Chicago traffic and blinding rainstorms, music, and watching the movie Cars courtesy of the DVD theater Uncle Eddie gave the girls. We made it all the way to Portage, Wisconsin. Not as far as we had hoped but not bad. We ate dinner at the blue place as the girls call Culver's. Thomas asked the girls what they were most excited about seeing today. Adriana said horses and especially the foal. Imagine that. Alayna said the Serious Tower. I think I'll forever think of the Sears Tower with that name now. After enjoying some frozen custard that Annalise insisted made her as cold as a penguin, we returned to Days Inn for some fun in the pool. We had hoped this would wear them out so they would quickly go to sleep. Not so much. Not only were all 4 girls in one room they had to share beds. Hopefully this will get better as our journey continues. Finally everyone but me is sound asleep and as it is very late or should I say very early in the morning I need to catch some ZZZZZZZZZZs myself.
